About Eileen Noyer

Eileen talks about how art has shaped her childhood, and what she's up to these days.

Hello! I'm Eileen, and I'm an Australian contemporary impressionist painter working predominately with oil paint on canvas. The experience of painting transports me to my 8-year-old self delving into 'art camp' weekends with my grandparents in Mosman NSW, and the youthful aspirations of my 14-year-old self going to Saturday life drawing in Alexandria NSW with my Mum.

When I'm not furiously painting you'll usually find me working in the disability sector, dancing collegiate shag, hiking near my home in Northern California, or playing with my two fur babies. I have the travel bug and love to be inspired by the natural environment around the world. If you ever came over to my home in Sacramento, the first thing I'd probably say is, "I'll just pop the kettle on."

I recently began a Desert Dreaming series of artworks that harks back to my time spent as a 21-year-old in the Northern Territory. The red ochre rocks and vastness of the land has seeped into my bones (in a good way!)
